Glassman to Speak at U4Y

We’re excited to announce that Stephen A. Glassman, Chairperson of the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission will speak on the topic of Civil and Legal Rights at our Unified for Youth conference on Saturday, July 18. Mr. Glassman is the first openly gay individual in the country to chair a state gubernatorial commission subject to Senate confirmation and the highest-ranking openly gay appointed official in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

In addition he has appeared as a media spokesperson on television, radio, and in the press on behalf of gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender civil rights causes and AIDS issues. He has also appeared with Martha Stewart on CBS This Morning, on an episode of “Frasier” entitled “The Doctor is Out” and as a guest on numerous radio and television talk programs. In June of 2004 Mr. Glassman had the opportunity to offer remarks in the House of Lords in London, England on Human Rights and Moslem/Jewish relations as part of a state delegation supporting a public dialogue between Dr. Akbar Ahmed and Dr. Judea Pearl.

This promises to be an interesting and informative session for all in attendance.
